Stanford Angels of the United Kingdom

ABOUT

The Stanford Angels of the United Kingdom is a group of Stanford alumni with experience as successful investors, entrepreneurs and executives—primarily in sectors related to high innovation (such as technology, life sciences, finance, energy). The group is committed to facilitating investments in early-stage and growth ventures, while enriching the entrepreneurship ecosystem more broadly.

Our members are serious angel investors and are actively engaged in the startups they back. Our prolific investment activity has resulted in the backing of many top-tier startups, and our activity continues to grow.

We believe that the strength of our brand organically derives from our connection to Stanford, the real value delivered to entrepreneurs, the group's active relationships in the ecosystem and our co-investment activity with funds, particularly in the UK. We are finding that top entrepreneurs in our ecosystem are increasingly interested in partnering with us, and top UK/EU funds and accelerators have become a key referral source of our high-calibre deals.

Since our founding in late 2018, we have held sessions four to five times per year. For each session, our Selection Committee evaluates a large number of referred, high-calibre startups. Three are chosen to pitch to our members. Our sessions typically lead to one or more investments.
